What to Expect on Your Beaujolais and Southern Burgundy Wine Tour
Embark on a unique journey through Beaujolais and Southern Burgundy, guided by a passionate local Insider.
You’ll visit 2 to 3 hand-picked wineries, typically closed to the public, and taste exceptional crus that capture the essence of these renowned regions. In Burgundy, you’ll step into the magnificent home of Philip — a former winemaker turned druid — and explore his extraordinary private wine cellar.
Gain behind-the-scenes insight into the winemaking process and the daily life of dedicated locals. You'll discover the secrets of their craft and dive into the rich wine heritage that defines the region.
Additional cultural, historical, or foodie discoveries are tailored to your interests. Whether you're passionate about history, terroir, or rural traditions, you might explore a privately owned medieval château opened exclusively for your visit, or stop by a charming goat farm to sample fresh, artisanal products. Many more hidden gems await to make your experience unforgettable.
For lunch, the regular tour includes a meal at a local restaurant showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients. However, we definitely recommend choosing the picnic option at checkout — a chic stop in the vineyards, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. And if you opt for the restaurant, we can still stop in a vineyard to open a few bottles and enjoy local food with a gorgeous view (weather permitting).
At the end of the day, you’ll return to Lyon — by train or private car, depending on the option you selected.
