What to Expect on Your Beaujolais Wine Tour

This Beaujolais wine tour takes you aboard a vintage Land Rover to discover the region's 10 exclusive crus, with a passionate local Insider guiding your journey. Along the way, you'll follow scenic roads through the northern wine-making hills. You'll visit 2 to 4 carefully selected wineries, usually closed to the public, each with its own story and exceptional wines. One stop includes a behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process, where you'll gain insight into the daily life and dedication of local winemakers. And of course, there will be plenty of tastings!


Additional cultural and historical stops are tailored to your interests. Our Insiders know every corner of the region and love to share its best-kept secrets. Passionate about history? Visit a charming chapel tied to the local terroir, or explore a privately owned medieval château opened just for us.


For lunch, the regular tour includes a meal at a local restaurant showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients. Want something different? We can organise a chic countryside picnic, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Just select it during checkout! And if you choose the restaurant option, we can still stop in a vineyard to open a few bottles and enjoy local cold cuts and cheese with a gorgeous view.


At the end of the day, you’ll return to Lyon — by train or private car, depending on the option you selected.

      Please note
        • Insurance mandates that all passengers must be counted regardless of age, but with us children under 3 years travel free of charge. Please contact us to add children under 3 to your booking. Infants must sit on your lap. Infant or child seats are not available on our rides. 
        • Our Land Rovers are classified as Collection Cars and as such are permitted to be driven in their original factory build which didn't include seatbelts or fixings.
        • The train ride departs the very central Lyon Part-Dieu station and takes about 30 mins, and we provide you with tickets, timetable and directions.
        • Pets are welcomed on the tour
        • Experience is wheelchair accessible (no wheelchair ramp but we'll make it possible. Please let us know in advance your access needs in the booking questionnaire).
        • The wineries will offer you the possibility to purchase wines and organise international shipment.
        • Non-alcoholic grape juice available for those who prefer it and children (no alcohol will be served to under 18 year olds).
        What to bring
          • We invite you to dress appropriately for the weather on the day, as we will spend a lot of time outside, even if it rains.
          • We recommend applying sunscreen year-round and strongly advise it from June to September. A hat for extra shade is also a great idea, remember, the sun makes the wine!
